We are delighted to announce the IV Therapy Nursing Award

- which will recognize the excellent work that has been done in the field of IV therapy and vascular access.

This award is a part of the British Journal of Nursing Awards 2013 that seek to celebrate the clinical excellence and innovation of nurses in a range of clinical areas worldwide.

The finalists for each category will be invited to an evening gala dinner and awards ceremony on Friday 22nd March 2013 at a central London venue.

This national conference provides a practical guide to advancing IV Therapy including developing competence, quality and safety in IV Therapy practice in hospital, in the community and at home. The conference will open with a national update on IV Therapy and the care of vascular access devices from Dr Lisa Dougherty Nurse Consultant, IV Therapy The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Chair National Infusion and Vascular Society (NIVAS). 

With IV Therapy now regarded as an essential skill for nurses speakers experienced in this area will offer important guidance and advice for ensuring safe and effective practice. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear how intentional ward rounds can help to monitor IV Therapy practice, and how to reduce both infections and pressure ulcers associated with intravenous devices.
